In this four-part edition, Richard Long explores the aesthetic manifestation of natural processes. With the exception of the first sheet, which gives the edition its title, all works display the result of a simple yet powerful act: immersing paper in fine river mud. This process produces organic, chance-determined structures – the mud flows, condenses, branches out, and leaves behind unique traces. Within this quiet dynamism lies a poetic reflection on time, nature, and materiality – central aspects of Long’s conceptual art practice.
