At Schellmann Art, we ship all artworks with great care and in secure, professional packaging.
This page provides an overview of our dispatch times, shipping methods, insurance, international deliveries, customs duties, and how to track your shipment.

1. Dispatch Time

Unless otherwise stated on the product page, artworks are dispatched within 2–5 business days after receipt of payment.

For certain works that require custom packing (e.g., large formats, glass-framed works, or editions with special materials), dispatch may require additional time. If this applies, it will be indicated on the product page or communicated directly after purchase.

2. Delivery Times

Delivery times depend on the destination country and the selected shipping method.

• Germany: typically 1–3 business days after dispatch
• EU: typically 3–7 business days after dispatch
• Non-EU / International: typically 5–14 business days after dispatch; customs processing may extend delivery times

Please note that delivery times are estimates provided by the carrier and may vary due to customs clearance, local regulations, or seasonal conditions. Delays caused by circumstances beyond our control may occur.

3. Shipping Methods & Carriers

We use professional, reliable carriers depending on the nature of the artwork and its destination, including TNT, FedEx, and fine-art logistics partners for large or sensitive works.

The available shipping options and costs are displayed during checkout, after selecting your delivery country.

4. Packaging & Handling

All works are packed by experienced staff or specialized art packers:

• Unframed prints / works on paper: flat packed
• Framed works: shipped in reinforced, shock-resistant packaging or custom-built crates
• Large-scale works: packed and shipped via fine-art logistics providers

Packaging is designed to protect the artwork during transit; we recommend opening packages carefully and following any included handling instructions.

5. Insurance

All shipments are sent fully insured.

For consumers within the European Union, insurance covers the shipment until delivery to the address specified by the customer.
For deliveries outside the European Union, insurance coverage applies until the shipment is handed over to the carrier in accordance with our Terms and Conditions.

Please check the condition of the package upon delivery. If visible damage has occurred, we recommend reporting it to the carrier immediately and documenting the condition with photos. This helps ensure a smooth claims process.

The allocation of risk is governed by our Terms and Conditions.

6. Shipping Costs

Shipping costs depend on destination country, shipping method, size, weight, and value of the artwork, as well as any special packaging requirements (e.g., crates)

The exact shipping cost is calculated and displayed before checkout, once you select your delivery country.

7. Customs Duties, Import Taxes & Non-EU Deliveries

For deliveries outside the European Union, the customer is responsible for any import duties, customs fees, and local taxes that may apply.

8. Tracking Your Shipment

Once your order has been dispatched, you will receive a tracking number via email, allowing you to monitor the progress of your shipment.

9. Delivery Address & Missed Deliveries

Please ensure that the delivery address provided during checkout is accurate and complete.
If a delivery cannot be completed due to an incorrect or incomplete address, or if the shipment is returned to us after unsuccessful delivery attempts, any re-shipping costs will need to be borne by the customer, provided the incorrect or incomplete address was supplied by the customer.

10. Returns

For information on statutory withdrawal rights applicable to customers within the European Union, please refer to our Withdrawal Policy.

We kindly ask that any return shipment be coordinated with us in advance in order to ensure appropriate handling and transport.

Returned artworks should be securely packaged to prevent damage during transit. Where possible, the original packaging should be used. We recommend using insured and trackable shipping.
