Uta Barth
Uta Barth (born 1958 in Berlin, Germany, lives and works in Los Angeles) explores the act of looking through photographs that shift attention away from conventional subjects and towards light, space and the peripheral field of vision. Often characterised by soft focus, cropped compositions and subtle changes in light, her images transform ordinary surroundings into quietly abstract visual experiences. Barth’s work invites the viewer to become aware not only of what is seen, but of the process of seeing itself.
