Ace of Clubs, 1977

In this edition, Richard Lindner presents a highly stylized female figure combined with the motif of a playing card. Ace of Clubs brings together Lindner’s characteristic graphic forms, saturated colours and sharply defined contours, drawing on the visual language of fashion, advertising and popular culture. The juxtaposition of the female figure and the playing-card motif creates an enigmatic composition in which glamour, sexuality and symbolism converge.
