Nicholas Krushenick

Nicholas Krushenick (1929-1999), born in New York City, lived and worked in New York. A distinctive figure in American Pop Art, he developed a highly individual style that combined the bold colours and graphic clarity of Pop with the abstract vocabulary of modern painting. His compositions are characterized by hard-edged geometric forms, dynamic patterns and vivid contrasts, often incorporating elements of comic-book imagery and commercial design. By bringing the visual language of popular culture into abstraction, Krushenick created a distinctive bridge between Pop Art and the development of Post-Painterly Abstraction.
